Medical textile

Businesses and international development organizations have a common interest in implementing the political, legal, social, environmental and economic conditions that promote sustainable development in developing countries and emerging economies.

In this context, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) has set up « DeveloPPP for jobs » program, which supports cooperation between the private sector and international development organizations in their mutual interest and has entrusted its implementation at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).

The program targets companies investing in developing countries and emerging economies that want to sustain their social commitment through partnerships for sustainable development.

In these partnerships, private sector companies and international development cooperation organizations work hand in hand.

By combining innovation capacity, private sector capital and resources with the knowledge and experience of GIZ's development cooperation, new opportunities can be created to generate a positive impulse for development in partner countries.

This project is part of the exceptional program of responses to the COVID-19 pandemic launched to encourage private companies to take initiatives likely to limit the effect of the pandemic on economies and populations in developing countries.

This is why TTS is investing in the establishment of a medical textile laboratory equipped with cutting-edge technologies and tests characterizing the anti-microbial and sanitary powers of medical textiles.

Medical textiles must be:

  • Non-toxic.
  • Non-allergenic.
  • Compatible with most living systems.
  • Sterilized with no change in the physical and chemical characteristics.
  • If necessary, non-degradable.
  • If necessary, degradable.
  • Fluid resistant or absorbent.
  • A high barrier of protection and permeability.
  • Anti-microbial and antibacterial.
